    $40! That is horrible.
Go to Autozone or Napa or one of those and just pick up a set of two-tone horns. I don't remember them being more than $10 or so. Ya want to get fancy, a set of airhorns might run you $40 or $50.
Rock Auto has a set for $26. ACDELCO D1945F Horn | RockAuto

One might go to Walck's and buy that horn for $64.95 plus shipping ... because it's a "Jeep horn."

Pfft. If all you need is a horn, go to the junkyard and pick one from a car or truck. $5 would be fair. Bring along your clip leads and test it in the parking lot before you leave.

I didn't want a little anemic 'Beep-Beep' horn noone can hear. I want a hearty, manly horn that lets you know three blocks away that I am here, and don't want you changing lanes and running me off into the underbrush.

When you wire it in use a relay so the horn gets full battery voltage and will HONK it's loudest.

You have nothing to lose. There usually is a small tuning/adjusting screw on the back side. It may even have a strange head that will require a plier or vice grip to turn. Try turning that screw a little either way while running power to the horn. Also, try tapping the horn with a hammer while powered up. There isn't much to lose, and I have had good luck "reviving" an otherwise dead horn.
I used to have access to a powerstat where I could dial voltage up to like 48V. Those were great at loosening up dead horns too.

    X2.

And they can be very sensitive to voltage - battery versus running engine, etc. Need an excellent ground.

I've even had them work/not work depending on how flexible the mount is - they need to vibrate correctly.

Try dropping it on the ground from shoulder height.

OK, but what if I'm really short? It would not be the same as a tall person dropping it?? I'll look up the average height of the american male then calculate a shoulder height and then drop it.

Drop it on concrete?? or another surface?? I'll just do the concrete.

your shoulder high should work just fine. You can drop it on your little brother's head, if you can get him to hold still long enough. Unless he is like mine and is bigger than you are.

What is going on is we are knocking the stuck innards loose. It will either work or it will break. Unless this is an original equipment horn, then you probably won't want to do that.

Took mine apart, cleaned and painted it. Hope it works once wired up. Jumpering it to the battery did not produce any sound. Might have been the wrong approach to test though

I'm going to take mine apart and do the same. It is rivited, but I can drill them out.
Your yellow jeep looks amazing. I would be afraid to take it out when it is done.
    Thanks

I took mine apart and it was loaded with rust. I took stuff apart carefully and cleaned contacts, etc. Still no beep, so I officially gave up on that horn. I did test the horn circuit using my test light as the horn and that test was positive so at least I know that part is ok.

Need a horn, but not going to pay 70 for one, so I will look around some.

I will accept free parts, I'm not proud.

    Thanks~~
