So, I thought I would post a couple pics of what I installed in the shop last weekend. So far, very happy with it and it looks like it will do what I want with it. Got it with and for some extra Willys Points for the wife as I've been doing some work on her Mustang. Last step is a Rack n Pinion conversion for her ;)

Is that a low ceiling lift? How high will it lift a car? Enough to stand up under the car?

I have a 11K lift in my shop that I really like. Except when I had my son's car on it and it wouldn't come down. A hydraulic valve stuck closed...

Yup - Portable Lift. I'll be getting another bolt set so I can do a setup outside on the pad as well. This is the model https://www.summitracing.com/parts/DMR-1375659

My ceiling is 10' - lift goes to 4' (arm on lift). Not tall enough to walk under, but sit on a rolling stool, not have to crawl under on cars, see real good, etc. I don't have jacks and such for a full lift, didn't really want that any how. I'll be able to do full axle, spring, swaps easy. Lift the body off jeeps easy, that sort of stuff will be it's main roll for me. Between the lift and hoist, I'm pretty well covered now I think... and limited time on my KNEES (damn things are wearing out on me).

    +1

Got me thinikg though ... outside ... hmm. My garage ceiling isn't that low, but the walls are about 7' high and I have collar ties every 4 feet at ceiling joist level. I was worried that my CJ would go in the door with the tall tires and soft top (it does - barely).

These are great lifts. You can get them through Cosco online on sale for $1,900 a couple times a year

Summit had this one on sale for the $1,900 and free shipping to the house. It was a B1&# to unload even with a lift gate on the truck, but the wife and I were able to assemble and put in place using the hoist. Once they are upright - pretty easy to move on the wheels.

Nice. It will save on the knees won't it? And neck, and laying on a hard floor. :)

After spending time working on the Mustang (Rack and Pinion swap) I've found a couple things... I have to watch how I twist sitting on the rolling stool, my back was sore after one adventure laying out the linkage from the column to rack.

I did find that I can get on a creeper and adjust the car height so its at a perfect arm length and work as well - that is real nice under the car. Rolling stool for the other is great and my knees are thanking me.

Now to get it finished over Christmas and get the jeeps back in for the 'items' I have on them this winter.

I got a used 9k lift , A local dealership was changing the old ones out , got it from a friend for $550.00 . The best 550 I ever spent. If you invest wisely wine , women song and a lift you will be a happy man, the rest of my money is just wasted on Jeep stuff
