Update: This Job is gett'n worse before it get's Better . :waiting: 40 year old Electronics, which were cutting edge Tech. back then , So...... It's off to Colorado to have a new Power Board installed. Bye -Bye any Dollar's I had just lay'n around ....
Casper's Electronics is guaranteeing that this will fix my problem's , as they have done hundreds of these successful Upgrades.
I originally wanted to reinstall the OEM speedo that I have , but unfortunately that would entail a whole lot more work, time, & Cost...... along with it would be waaaayyyy to difficult to find the Harness & make it work with this System.
The thing is........ when ' Rosie ' is Right , She run's like a Velvet Gorilla. This is the Price of uniqueness , I Reckon.

I'd be willing to bet that there are more than a couple vendors selling stand alone harness's for turbo Buicks.

For some unknown reason, I remembered in the middle of the night last night. I was planning on putting in a roll cage and I thought the tube would be in the way of the switch! Maybe someday I will actually get around to installing that cage....

Finished building the steering shaft for the Willys pickup. Unfortunately, this will be a temporary setup, the upper joint is running at too much of an angle and binds up some as you turn the steering wheel. Eventually we'll have to get a double cardan type joint to go there but at least we can steer it to move it around.

A couple of days ago, I replaced the brake caliper on the driver's side of the YJ. It was for sure sticking, but it was a little better with the notches filled in. Day before yesterday I replaced the alternator, which was making good power output but had a bearing going on in the rear and was making a squealing/squeaking noise at anything engine speeds over idle. I also put a new oil pressure sensor in. For whatever reason one of the previous owners decided to remove the oil pressure sensor and replace it with a bolt with about 1 inch of RTV slathered around it. The oil pressure gauge in the cap was pegged out so I figured the sensor was broken, didn't expect to find it completely gone, ha.

What's wild is they spent more time/effort with their "Fix" than just putting a new sensor in.

I built a set of 1" square tube skeleton doors and padded them for nice arm rest. I cut up a couple old department store racks for the material. I ordered a 10 pack of 3/8" quick release ball bearing hitch pins to latch them closed.
And some one mentioned roll bars getting in the way of switches. Yep With the front bar and swing pedals my stock position High/Low beam floor switch impossible to reach except with the clutch pushed in.
I also added a small ice chest.
And a picnic basket, Daisy Dog still has a back seat..
I didn't like having the Jerry can that close to my picnic basket, so I zip tied a piece of 8mm dual wall polycarbonate Greenhouse panel between the two.
We are leaving next Friday for a Run up into the Trinity Alps of Nor Cal.

Drove an hour north and scooped up the correct style of steel wheel for this year and trim package. I was about to give up and buy some refurbs from ROCKAUTO but stumbled across these for 60 dollars for a set of 4. I was very surprised when I picked them up, they had some cobwebs and grass stuck on them but overall if they hadn't had wheel weights still on them, I would have never guessed they had ever been used. They didn't even have tire gunk on the bead sealing areas from previous tires. Even had 3 of the 4 center caps.

I hauled them back threw them in the back of the YJ then ran to Discount Tire and had them mount and balance a new set of Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunners, I currently run these on my XJ for daily use, and they have been great on road and decent enough off pavement. I've always got my mud terrains on a seperate set of steel wheels for the times I'll be spending more time off than on road.

On the downside I lost one of my hubcaps. It looks like one of their workers forgot to snug down the screws, it got launched going down the road and got destroyed by a passing car. I have a request to them now to look at replacing it. I had spares on the wheels they took off so I stole another one from the off road tire set.

The ‘53 Willys wagon needs lots of work, so I have several sub-projects going simultaneously: tailgate repair, brakes and rewiring.

The headlight dimmer switch needs to be replaced, so, while I wait for the FLAPS to open after the holiday, I’m busying myself with bending brake lines and installing the proportioning valve and such. One of my brothers loaned me his flaring and bending tools, so life is good.

(Also, I can’t seem to stay retired. I’ve started hauling gravel for a contractor friend, spreading on township roads. I’ll be moving heavy equipment and filling in as an operator - dozer, loader, backhoe - as needed.)

Anyway, here’s a couple of photos:

Forgot to take a picture, but today we flat towed the 49 Willys pickup to Pikes Peak State College where it'll spend the summer getting body work done.

Somebody wanted to see my blower motor setup. I did this to try to help the FiTech stay cool, (Fail) but it does help prevent vapor lock when running around town with multiple stops.

Next check and fill fluids, then time to work on the trailer :coffee:

just noticed the wires hanging down on the right, I had to pull those down to put the glove box back in........ oh well, it's never really finished, .... is it?

Thanks. I see an inline fan. Did the FiTech need cooling? How do you like the Edelbrock? Marine?
