The jigsaw with a new blade did it just fine. One blade was enough.
I also did get some help moving the body around. The rear is centered and bolted down to the new crossmember.
Then I put the new bumper on as well.

Nice Jeep, White is my favorite jeep color. I have owned 3 that color. A cj3b, and two cj5's.

    Started on another parts list...
I have D44 FF shafts and wheel bearings/seals to order. :sneak: Front shackle bushings are pretty much shot so I'll be going back with something less janky.

Walking around the Jeep and noticed the passenger side of the tub looked "off". I guess I favor that side.

Started tearing down the parts axles I've been holding onto the past couple years. First is the D25. Bearings are toast, and the knuckles had no grease when I popped them open. Driver side knuckle has the TRE welded on with the hole half sheared off, tie rod had clearly been straightened and welded several times, and spring packs were wasted from a rollover. I think this axle is doing pretty good all things considered.

Somebody may have already noticed, but in the video the teeth on the lock-rite aren't meshed so that's the slop. You can see them moving back and forth on the high parts instead of interlocked together.

It's frozen solid. It'll be good for parts or scrap metal.

My jeep has been pinging alot since iv been running it on half coleman fuel for a few months. Got about 50 gallons of it from a cleanout. It always had a problem dieseling when shutdown hot anyway. We put a timing light on it again today and it was getting 40 degrees at full advance. So we unplugged the vacuum advance and its down to 22. Seems to be running alot smoother. Time will tell. dwell is about 30 degrees and moves down to 22 when reved. Is dwell supposed to change like that?

I'ld expect the 134 to run fine on coleman fuel how is the 2a doing on it?

Actually its my cj5 with the v6. I only put in a gallon for every 4 or 5. It seems to do ok other than the extra knocking. Its a little hard to tell because i do alot of short trips and its cold out now so it never really gets up to temperature. It takes some extra choke lately but i dont know if its from the fuel or the cold. I put a little in the 2a also but not enough to matter.

I'ld just not burn it in the v6. Might be something for the archive seakers but The 4cyl being military heritage is likely tested on coleman fuel as an available fuel source during the war. The compression on the v6 is significantly higher and it's an exponential sort of issue that is an expensive risk.

Saturday we were clearing out some brush on our back lot. Wife said, "Can you pull these grape vines out of these trees"? The M38A1 in 4 Lo worked very well with a long nylon rope. The Jeep never missed a beat. I did pull over one small (about 6 in) holly tree, but we pulled it back up with a come along and staked it. Then after dark we rode in it to look at the neighbor hood Christmas lights.

    That was a fun day.

Getting the 231 ready to install.

Since a broken valve spring was the killer of the Dauntless I decided to replace these before I ran it. To keep the valves from dropping down when I remove the spring I stuck a couple feet of cord inside the cylinder and ran the piston up until tight.
It didn’t work well and I ordered the air hose for the spark plug hole.
