I needed to replace the fuel lines on my new project before it exploded. I picked up a 25' coil of 5/16" poly coated brake line at my local FLAPS. Straightened out two 11' lengths.

Needed to a 90" bend at 11'. Get out my trusty benders. They been bending brake and fuel line for 20 years. First attempt - kink. Second attempt other bender - kink. Seriously, what the !#$!$@#@$!@. Brake line is going back to the FLAPS tomorrow.

These benders have worked fine up to 3/8' before without a problem. First time using poly line.

I've bought lengths of the poly line and had no trouble with it. I have also used the Nicopp line, and plain steel. I recently replaced all the lines to my J-20's Aero tank with steel, and I used my trusty Robinair bender. The 25' rolls of plated steel line are cheap from eBay or from Del City.

Likely the poly-coated line is slippery, and the bender does not keep enough tension.

I hate the poly coated stuff to bend or double flare. Like Timgr said, too slick to get a good grip.
