11" Brakes

    will the rear brakes from a 1978 cj5 fit on a cj2a?

    no, not that I recall
    different backing plate bolt pattern and offset on the AMC 20 axle

    taxing my memory here.... might need help on this
    they are 11", and they are used with flanged 1 piece axles
    so once again, I believe the backing plate bolt pattern is wrong
    they might work by redrilling a hole or 2 in the backing plate

    that is all it needs a hole or 2 drilled? if so I am in business.

    I used 11" backing plates off of a Jeep p/u and only had to drill 2 holes if that helps.

    The AMC 20 and Scout 2 Backing plates will NOT work. Different bolt pattern and Offset of the backing plates. The drums from the AMC if 11" will work. Correction, Front Scout 2 brakes will work but you must use all Scout hardware, shoes, drums, etc. as they are different from Jeep. The rears definitely won't work without a silly amount of money spent. Nickmil.
