Help from the experts (or experienced) please.
I'm trying to upgrade the brakes on a 2A to 11" drums. My service book for ('' rakes calls for .030 max runout on the face of the drum. I assume the face is the top edge of the drum??? I got .035 with new drums even after I rotated the drum on the hub to a different location.
Is .035 an acceptable runout with 11" drums?
    Thanks for any help,
    Tommy

Which brake service book is this? Typically you are only concerned with out-of-round at the machined surface of the drum. Maybe someone with more machining experience can comment on this, but run-out to me means lateral wobble of the plane perpendicular to the axle. Measuring to the edges or raw cast surfaces of the drum isn't going to tell you much.

If the drum is off-center or out-of-round, then there's something wrong with the drum or the hub. When the drums are made, they are machined to be concentric to the center hole AFAIK.

    Thanks----
You are probably right. I will measure it that way and let you know.

Outside surface is approx. .033 when measured around the perimeter.
