Do you mean 4L60E? And why would you want a computer controlled transmission?

If I were to go the electric trans route the 4L80E is a much stronger trans than the 4L60E. Personally I hate computer anything in my vehicles and try to go old school when possible.

One would make a nice tow rig, but good luck finding an actual dually. Few and far between. May be easier just to put the FC cab on a dual wheel version of a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge.

I agree with this. The frame is pretty light duty if I recall, the same as a CJ. For doing work/hauling I would mill over the option of a heavier frame to start with. Aside from that though, that would be pretty darn cool!

That one was built as the tow rig for this one-

I think the only FC part of either of those trucks is the cab...

I thought the 170 had a heavier frame but the 150 was like a cj5. I'd start with a 170 in any case. I don't care for the look of the 150. Too short and top heavy looking. The 170's seem more proportionate or something.

The frame on my 61 FC170 looks almost the same as the frame in my 69 J3500 pickup.
On both have the out boarded springs, post mount.
    Same track wide.

Will check closer when I get both to my place.

No I have not towed anything with it as it has not run in about 5 years.
It does have a nice hitch and a large 6 way plug on the back.
