My 78 has the baffle on both sides. They are identical. The indent is for the hat channel on the right side that supports the side mounted spare.

Looking at Wuze's profile, he has a Model 20 transfer case, since his CJ6 is a 1979 export model.

From the bottom of the hood drip rail to the top of the master cylinder hole is slightly less than 3 1/4 inches

If it is an intermediate, the rear seat will have pins that hold it into the mounts if it is factory. Take the rear seat and mounts out of the 72....
