Okay, I'm still working on my '71 CJ and it's headed to the paint booth in a couple weeks. Meanwhile, I'm trying to track down one of those Delco Remy vacuum actuators (the on that directs the air to and from heat) for the heater box. Any advice where to look? I've restored the box except for that one actuator.

There is so much to get done to it....I am almost at a loss at where to start...I have to get the breaks going....I am considering converting to HEI ignition, but I want to research that a little more....I have a set of renegade mags for it that have to be polished up and some BFG's to go on those....make sure everything checks out mechanically (first priority with the breaks)....get a top....heater is in parts...body work for the typical places....paint....seats upholstered...new steering wheel...glove box.....lubricate front to back....whew...then all the little details that will go along...working from a save and do budget so all of that will probably take years....unless I can somehow win the lotto....LOL. I look forward to seeing updated pics of yours....looks like you are well on your way....how long have you been working on it?

Hey Bill! Great Jeep....I JUST picked up a 71 CJ5 V6 in the EXACT same color as yours...getting ready to start work on it myself. I am really excited....and really inexperienced on this deal....

Hope yours turns out exactly like you want!

      OOOGA!

I'm restoring a 1971 CJ5 with a V6. I'm trying to hunt down shifter boots for a Dana model 18 single leverand a Warn overdrive. I've been taught to look with my eyes and not my mouth (keyboard) but I haven't had any luck on my own. This is my first post so please be kind. I've enjoyed observing this site for a while and compliment the members. Thanks in advance, Bill in Denver.
