Just picked up a 1966 M416. Setting it up for my 74 CJ5 to pull. Without any load do I want the trailer tongue to be level with the ground? I'm going to make a pintle reciever for the jeep and want to set the height right.

Federal Surplus over by the airport had a few 1/4 and 3/4 ton. Local gov can but anytime and they auction a few times a year for general public. Awesome stuff there.

So when can I drop mine off at your house and you restore it like yours. Oh, I need it green. R)

I have the metal and an idea to make an adjustable pintle hitch. So I can slide it in any receiver and adjust for my Jeep / Truck or whatever is pulling it.

Oh and keep the rims that are on it. you will notice they have special lug nuts. The rimscenter themselves on the hub not with the lug nuts.

A little surface rust, but thats it. Better condition then my Jeep when I found it. For now I plan to address just the rust spots and lights. I plan on building a removable tent lid of some sort (like the expense offroad tent trailers but a homemade job).
Bought this as a future project for when the boys get a little older we can go camping. It will also come in handy around the house.

So true, but you can shim a set of wagon wheels and use the chrome lug nuts to center. Spent some time figuring that out

Hitch for the trailer. 2x2 will need to be cut down to fit jeep due to the gas tank. Flat plate has extra holes to move pintle up and down or flip whole hitch over for different heights.

Exactly what i am using :) Keep it on the jeep when the trailer is not behind it, and it is instant rear end protection. I would love to see a Honda rear end the jeep and that thing just put a hole in the radiator and possible engine block :)

Yeah, the guys in the shop always suggest extreme overbuilds when I bring an idea to them. The sliders made from 1/4", 3/8" floor pans - anymore metal and I'll have to step up to a V8.

I have a tire carrier in the works. Mine now slides into the receiver that I will need for the trailer. Also, front hoop going in for me and a family bar in the back as soon as I can find a bender.

I put a regular trailer hitch on mine, and dropped it on the ball. do go to the trouble of keeping the parking foot and brake. It is invaluable when hooking up and dropping off. they make the trailer what it is.
