Won't be going to Idaho this year so I'm going to start my engine upgrades. First up is exhaust, with in-frame headers.

Novak Adapters. One of our guys helped design them. Either Nickmil or Warloch, I forget.

Chuck, what did you use to seal them with? Novak suggests hi temp silicone. I'm skeptical.

Is that the "silver ceramic" coating I saw on their site? I've been eyeing them for a bit...I still have manual steering, though, so I'll have to wait until I can afford the conversion.

Just the hi temp RTV I had here at the house. No issues with them (not lock tite, the other brand - brain fart right now ;0 )

Why any rtv? If built right should be unnecessary unless I'm misunderstanding something.

I can't imagine having to use RTV to seal a header flange. Why can't you use regular header gaskets?

That is Novak's suggestion. I am still leery.

Looks like they were ground with a flat stone, then coated. The surface is planar but you can still see the grind marks.

It's really just extra - ******* ran his for 6 months changing the exhaust system around till he got it like he wanted it with no issues or noticed leaks. Then we put some on for his 'final' assembly.

    Hi Chuck,
What steering will these headers clear? Will they work with the stock Ross box? Or how about shaft clearance to a Saginaw?

I have not tried them with the Ross - they may work as they hug the block on that side more, they were designed with Sagainaw in mind. We used several different motor mounts when doing it, as that was the issue to be worked around at the time.

You can kinda see it in this, though it's a manual Saginaw, the power fits the same. If you want, I will see about getting some better pics when he gets back in town (and the weather cooperates).
