Hey everyone! I am wanting to build a steel center console. I dont have much room as most of you probably know. I have a maximum of 6" between the seats.
If anyone has a homemade or bought option please take a pic fot me to look at so I get some ideas or a good solution.
    thanks!!

Not sure what type you are looking for. Part # AC-PBMB95 is at the bottom of the page on this link. I had one of these between the bucket seats on a 71 CJ and mostly used the cup holders. But it does have the slot for papers or notebooks. It is tight between the seats but this fits very well.

BTW, it does not require the console listed in the product information. You can screw it to the floor with two screws.

Do you still have the under-seat toolbox? Our JEEP has a homemade center console. I'll be glad to snap a pic or two, but our JEEP has had the floors replaced at some time. There is no longer an under-seat toolbox. The console extends under the passenger seat to create a "toolbox" that is accessible by lifting up the passenger seat.

Alone that would not be sufficant but that would be an easy add on to something i make as far as cup holders go.

Yea I still have the original floors and the toolbox under the seat. I would still like to see what you have as far as center console goes if you can post a pic!

Tight fit between the fuel tank and tool box but works. Cup holders work great for be.....verage cans.

I actually tried a ammo can but mine is a bit bigger than that one. I have only 6" between seats. the small ammo can looks like a doable option and get a small amount of dry storage as well!! thanks.
    Keep em coming!

Pathkiller-That looks like the can I have. Unfortunately not fitting easily with my seat set up. The small stock seats leave a bunch more room than my smittybuilt srcs. I dont want to move the passenger seat over to the outboard because I think it looks uneven when the tops off.
I think I can make the cupholders as shown above and stick it in there as long as im not opening it often should work pretty good. There is flex in the sides of the seats to open the ammo can but it is a tight fit.

I got a chance to take some pics of my ammo can/console out of the Jeep. You can see the part numbers on it, apparently it was for bomb fuses. It measures 5.75" wide by 11" deep by 13" tall.

Mine is 16 ga sheet metal welded up and covered with trunk carpet from Oreillys. I had to do a custom one because of my suspension seats. I have better pictures but I need a new video card before I can get to them. Really simple though. I used a 3"door hinge mounted inside the top and the back so all you see is the carpeted box. Works great. Use 3" round tube for the cup holders so you can put a koozie in it to keep your favorite beverage cold. I used .120 wall to be durable. Exhaust pipe probably won't hold up to rough use.
