In the middle of a rear tank swap and have most of the drawbar bracing cut out. There is still short pieces attached at the forward crossmember and they appear to be pinched in between the crossmember and the frame. Is this going to cause problems with the tank?

I just did this last week, I left about 2" of the material in place, I figured it would help to brace the body mount that is in that corner. Anything that sticks out less than the frame flange would not interfere, at least the way mine is.

I left them there also. I had no problem fitting the tank and skid plate.

I'm wanting to do this mod for my cj5. I'm leaving the underseat tank but want to add the rear tank. I'm swapping the frame to a intermed, replacing the factory orginal on my 68. What tank did you all use; just the standard factory tank and skid plate? Thanks in advance, tw
