Guys - I had a local here tell me that there is a clutch kit (like LUK or such) that will go with a T18 4 speed and the Dauntless. I am not aware of any since the tranny uses a Ford clutch and the flywheel takes a GM Presure Plate.

Anyone know of this, and while I am at it, anyone have parts numbers handy for the components?

I got a kit from Herm (Luk) that went with my Ford T18 to Dauntless. Although I needed a longer pivot pin and a different, longer throwout bearing for the linkage to work properly.

I was totally unaware of this. I reused the clutch that was with my :v6:/T14 combo. It had the same spline count and diameter shaft and worked perfectly. Is it because I used a Jeep T18?

That's possible - I have one of each out in the shop and will compare for you.

Thanks for the part Number Windy - I am getting an adaptor from Parts Mike and it's turned down for the Chevy TO already. I'll do some measureing and more looking and post back what I find.

Mine was the 3 finger type clutch, not the diaphragm type and it worked fine I remember at the time being consured about it being to stiff but it's been fine... Well the kids complain a little...

Danka - I am going to wait to get the input shaft from Parts Mike to figure out the pilot bearing. The T18 swap is new to me, I just stumbled on 2 of them (one Ford, one Jeep) for cheap and figured I would buy the input this time to measure agaist the Ford tranny for next time (if there is a next time :))

This is going in my Niece's '62 with the V6 swap.

If you use the ford input partsmike and r&p sell the pilot bushing needed it's a stock gm bushing that's been machined to fit the ford pilot

I just ordered stuff from R&P so have a couple pilots comming from them.

For the record - the Ford T18 I have has the same input size and spline count as the T14 I just took out. The Jeep input shaft is much larger.

    Bit of an update - the T-14 is a 1 1/8 input, Ford T-18 is a 1 1/16 input. Both 10 splined.
