I recently purchased a 1967 CJ5 that has a split windshield that does not hinge out, it is fixed. I cannot seem to find any other Jeep out there with this style of windshield. Can anyone tell me anything about this? Is this from a Willy's? Attached are a couple photos. I need to buy windshield wipers for it and want to be sure I am ordering the right size, etc. The wipers are 10" long if that helps.

Nevermind, there are no photos attached as it says I am not permitted?

What you have is an M38a1 windshield from a Military. They were also used on some very early CJ's, I suspect as leftovers from the assembly line. The tilt out or "ventilating" windshield you refer to were primarily on export and special order models afaik. Your '67 "should" have had either flat top one piece glass windshield frame with top mount wipers or possibly flat top glass with bottom mount wipers. I suspect someone swapped out the windshields or the glass at some point.

The glass is all scratched up from a bad wiper on the drivers side. I am wondering if I should try some of that glass polish I researched and found or if I should remove the old glass and take to a glass and mirror shop and see if they can trace them and cut me some new pcs from laminated? I believe they are completely flat. I also think I can find the old rubber seal on the web somewhere as I am starting to think that there isn't anything you can't find for a Jeep on here! :)

If the glass polish doesn't work I'm out about $50. Anyone ever try the glass polish with success? Here is a link to a kit that I keep finding when Googling:

I suppose I would want to check locally at glass shops before tearing my old glass out! :)

Were it mine, I'd put the $50 bones towards new glass. I'd just pull the whole windshield and take it to the glass shop............
