I come across a cj5 frame & needing help to determind what year. Has the three mounts down the outside of the frame for the puck style body mounts. Also the 2 in the rear & 1 under the radiator. Has the dana 30 frt but drum breaks, so 78? Disk brakes standard on 79 & newer, right? Looking to try order a lift kit. Thanks, tw

Check the width of the leaf springs. If they are 1.75" then it is a '75 or older. I believe '76 and newer are 2.5" wide.

Well they measure 1 15/16", so maybe it's pre 76. Think I'll just get a YJ 2.5" lift kit & enjoy the ride. Was going to put a later model 30 w/disk brakes & power sterring anyway. Thanks for the info though. tw

Is it boxed to the rear of the frame horns? If so it is 76 and later. The springs will 1 3/4" on 75 and earlier. The later models use a 2" in the front and 2.5" rear spring.
