I finally got some better pics of my '63 DJ3A, and actually "drove" it for the first time. (Okay, it was just my sister pulling me around in her '84 XJ, but it was still fun!) I'm hooked. :)

[IMG] I just can't get over how small this thing is!

[IMG] Love that little upper door.

    [IMG] Door open...

    [IMG] Door closed.

    [IMG] "Willys". :patriot:

[IMG] Cancer in driver's side floorboard - it's worse on the passenger side, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Last Early CJ5 - Go for it! Maybe we can get enough owners, with enough demand for information and support, that we can actually get a good following for these things going. It's sad how little info there is for the DJ's on the internet - not that there isn't any, just a tiny percentage of what there is on CJ's. And many books, no matter how much detail there is on other models, seem to largely avoid the Dispatchers.

Ralf - Yep, I know what you mean. Some people are gonna think it's cool, but others aren't going to hesitate in telling me they think it's ugly. :)

I wouldn't know who you'd be referring to.. lol.

You might want to search thru the for sale posts over at the 2A page, I remember at least one free or almost free DJ top, which may have had better doors on it, and If you PM me I will tell you another possible source for a redone top if the guy in OK still has it. Not many people like the top you have, as it is pretty funky and totally alters the look of the jeep. Did you see the recent one on Ebay that had your style top and normal door openings?

all4jpn - Yes, I've posted on the DJ3A portion of the CJ2A page, but didn't get much of a response.

Thanks for the tips, F Bill. I'm not really looking for a new top - I intend to redo this one. Yep, it is kinda funky and makes it look really silly (kinda topheavy), but it's pretty spacious inside. I'm not sure if I saw that particular one - what color was it? I know they put my style top on both "flush" floorboard and normal CJ-style bodies.

Thanks, Nate! Yes, it's got a really nicely weathered look. If it weren't for the cavity rust I have to take care of, I'd be tempted to just put some clearcoat on it and leave it!

The top looks allot like the one on my 5 when I got it (minus the windows). The doors even look the same minus the way they mount.

Yes, I've noticed some of the tops used on CJ5's look nearly identical to mine - and those panels (where your side windows are at) are removable, so if you could find those panels with a window opening it might be a perfect fit.

Thanks! It should be 10x cooler when it's finished. :)
