Few gremlins are poking their heads, otherwise it's too much fun it should be illegal.

Chirps the tires shifting through the gears, pulls wonderful in high range, tons of torque, but my brakes are lacking now. Oh well, EB axles are going in sometime.

The fan I'm running is contacting my lower rad hose, Patrick and I have been discussing this. The trains of thought is a slim line electric fan, if not, a smaller flex fan. Shroud will be easy now, I'm the proud of a TIG welder now.

Carb is running fat, but not my problem. The carb shop who built it told me if it is, to bring it back and he'll throw smaller jets in.

Found some dirt to play in in my own neighborhood. They dug out the ditches and left all the dirt next to them, their fault. They should have removed the dirt.
My fuel pump decided it was the bump stop, crushed it....Swapped it to a smaller pump as per Patricks recommendation, and I won some FOA Air bumpstops on the PBB Xmas give away (pokes Frank and Jason with a stick R) ) which will be swell.
Poor man locker works, started spinning the RR in the silt, grabbed the turning brake and it pulled right out.
Gonna drop the front hoop down, it's too goofy looking and it's hitting the lollipops.

Again, I'm not keeping up with the posts here, if you're interested, view my build thread on Pirate 4x4

It had snowed a week or so ago, and i couldn't help but play in the dirt and mud. I guess I'm sick and twisted, dirt and mud is fun in a Jeep.

Looks good! Glad you are getting the bugs worked out. Always nice to be able to drive it after all the work. Tires look real good on that too.

Looken great Sammy-and sbc's in flattys probably should be illegal:D

If you have radiator hoses that are in areas where there may be some abrasion, slip hydraulic hose protective sleeving over them. Usually either "ballistic" nylon or kevlar. I installed them on both radiator hoses and all the power steering hoses. Not only provide good overall protection, but also keeps the hose clamps from cutting.

It's not a slight abrasion issue I'm running into, it's full contact with the lower radiator hose and fan, when the right front is flexed out and I open the throttle. Engine torques that way and the fan grabs the hose (suck) So I'm gonna try a smaller fan for now and see if it draws enough air and if it doesn't contact. Hope I wrote down the PN for my hose, it only took me 15 (honest) actual trys to 3 different FLAPS.

I had to have a rad shop move my lower outlet to a different angle to get it to work with the Ford 5.0.....smaller fan would be a lot less hassle

try a chain from the motor to the frame . keeps the motor from torqueing over yet lets the motor mount do its job. also stops the shifter from moveing when under power with good traction.

Most bugs worked out save for the SM420 grinding while shifting (rebuild here I come)
Fan clears, doesn't over heat even with no shroud which will probably change when it comes summer time.
Just need to make covers for the new holes in the body, re route the exhaust, fit the cage under the half cab and install the holbrooks. May build a 44 front if I feel wanty.
Messing with it while everyone was at work

Everythings been TIG welded now within the limits of the machine, gonna get a bottle of helium for it as well for deeper penetration.

Got to help out some KOH guys in town

[IMG]The owner of the blue buggy was blown away by the 47...It made him smile. Feels good considering he's got $85k into his ride and I have ~$20k in mine.

Holbrooks installed. Need to make some shock mounts. Buddy of mine has some stock JK shocks I'm going to nab and see if I can get them to extend and compress enough. Solid mounts just tacked on. Gotta lay some stringers tomorrow after I double check all my measurements.

Also got some better shackles for the front, as well as my Ballistic Fabrication hawse fairlead.

Gonna see if a guy I know wants to buy the 32's that have 15 miles on them to go to 34's or 35's...He's been hinting that they'd be good on his XJ.... Will I cut the tub to fit 35's? Yer darn tootin. It's not stock anymore, might as well make it mine :)

It really doesn't weigh much as tough as it looks... Heaviest part is the winch, which is much lighter than an 8274.
That was my first project with gas welding in school, I'd gas welded for several years prior but I needed a project to do, so I cut and bent all the metal at home, and welded it in class.

Got the solid mounts for the 'brooks mounted up, need to box the frame and get new U Bolts, then onto figuring out why the SM420 grinds on shifting.

Making progress on buttoning up the v8 swap.
"adjusting" the front frame.... It wouldn't steer hard left, but would go hard right, or vice versa. Easy enough, cut off the old and lay some new tube in there. Running into an issue with the clearance between the radiator support and spud shaft on the PS box, but with a notch in the frame for the homebrew steering plate, and a little finessing of the rad support and I can snake it in.
    Off with the old....
    On with the new
    [IMG]
Root pass on one of the splices tying the new and old frame together, with a sleeve
    [IMG]
Single pass on the swing shackle mount
    [IMG]

Not bad considering I haven't touched gas shield wire feed in about 8 months.... Working at getting my D1.1 cert this summer. I'll be a machinist and have a welding cert, and stll before the drinking age.

Still need to patch the firewall, make some shift covers and rebuild the now grinding SM420. Guess heavy duty truck trans' don't like being shifted at 6200 rpm....
