After going through my parts, i found a few tins that I do not know what they go to.

    1. is some kind of bracket. It is round bar bent to a sort of "U" shape.
    2. This tin looks to be like a radiator tank, but it isnt. just has the same shape.
    3. another tin, actually two of them, angle brackets that have rolls in them kind of like the number 2 tin.
    4.another tin
    5. Some kind of valve. Metal line in top, rubber hose out the bottom. may have to do with fording.

If anyone can help ID that that would be great :)

#5 is the oil pressure sending unit. The "rubber hose" out the bottom is part of the waterproof electrical connector.

Dan, that lifting bracket is what I want. :D

I have one for my A1 but I like it so much I want to eventually put one on the '60 CJ5 that I'm rebuilding.

I checked on those tins and they didnt seem to be for the battery box. here is another pic of them
    [IMG]

Here is a valve I am not sure of. Probably part of the fording stuff
    [IMG]

Not sure what the green thing does, the bottom seems to be like a hood latch but not sure, and the other bracket is just something else i am not sure of
    [IMG]

I had 3 carbs come with the stuff. One is original M38a1 carb with air tube that has the tie ins for the pressurization of the gear boxes and everything else. The other two i am not sure of. One is a single barrel

The other is a single barrel in the top throat, but at the bottom it is a two barrel. It does say FORD on it, possibly a tractor carb since this property had many tractors on it.

And some cool things i found. i never saw shifter knobs that were engraved :)

Your right, the valve is part of the fording system. That black part in between the valve and the tubing is the pcv valve. It connects from the vacuum pump to the push rod cover.

still believe those are battery box related, I took mine out and there was alot of crap bolted in some odd places there. I am thinking, that those bolt up on the inside of the tub either between the box and firewall or the box and dash and if thats them they were a real pita to get to

The green latch looking thing is part of a rifle rack. There is a rectangular base that hiolds the butt in place and that spring loaded latch holds the handguard (vertically). Pull the latch, twist it up or down and grab your shooter.

    Really common part in vehicles.

I know for sure the U tin #2 is the fire wall to battery box suport...I just looked at the one I removed. The other L brackets I can't place but my M38A1 was not complete. The paint overspray over the olive is a good indication of how they were mounted.
