Will the pto units bolt into any transfercase, in other words the output gear on the trans makes no difference does it? I have a 18H Spicer PTO I want to put on my dana 18 and t14 to run a compressor. The bearings in the PTO are bad but I will repalce them and then make a pulley to run a York Compressor mounted to the frame or crossmember to fill a 5 gallon tank, mounted up front o nthe frame.

The PTO units designed to work on an 18 transfer case will fit any 18 transfer case regardless of transmission. The transfer case input gear has "splines" or "teeth" that are the same across the board. That's what the pto sleeve engages.

When you get into transmission pto units then there are worlds of difference in tooth counts, off sets, gear tooth pitch, etc. despite the fact that most share a common bolt pattern.

Depends on the manufacturer. I have a pto unit for sale right now that fits '72-'79 CJ's with the model 20 transfer case and will fit pu's and waggys of the same vintage. They are still making pto's that work off of transmissions like the T-18 which was an option in CJ's. Too many variables to answer your question accurately. There are TONS of variables in the pto units themselves as well. Dual output, dual shift dual output, low dual output, low front output, high rear output, reversible, non reversible, etc., etc. etc.

How much for the pto. I understand that the pto's are DIFFERENT depending on whether the model20 transfer case is Jeep or Bronco. I have a 70 Commando with T18B transmission and T20 transfer case. Will your PTO fit it? Is it the PTO only or do you have any other parts. - thanks,
