So after putting this off forever and a few close calls I finally got around to putting in a full cage. Plus my son is riding in the jeep more often and I want to start taking him on the trails with me. Have about 20 hours into this, I also used POR 15 to paint it. I think it came out pretty good..

A,B, and C pillars mocked up. C pillar is angled forward 10 degrees to follow tthe lines of the soft top.

Pretty tight in the back. I put horizontal bars 6 inches up between the B and C pillars, and a bar behind the seat.

Here is everything all tacked together. I pretty much copied the Genright cages minus the bar behind the front seats.

All welded up and prepped for POR 15.

    Painted and padding installed.

Installed. The fit with the top is tight but it works.

The tubing used is 1020 Hrew, 2 in for the pillars, 1.75 for the horizontals, and the rest is 1.5.

looks great , I like how you got rid of the angled back tube and opened up the back seat area to get a cooler/kid in there , best one I've seen click-save thankyou
you have the dies to bend 2" those dies are pricey . my whole cage is 2" but I will have to do my backhalf out of 1 1/2 since I have the dies for that .bummer .

I didn't bend the tubes, it was a pre fab kit. I just changed the design of it and added some more tubing to it. The boy and I just went for a quick ride in it, and although I haven't tied it to the frame yet it seemed to really stiffen up the tub. Most of the speed bump creaks and moans are gone.

My was all .120 thick. You could probably get them to sell you a length of 1.5 od .120 wall tube for triangles above as well. A 10 degree cut on the bottom of the tubes was a perfect angle to follow the soft top.

Can't remember how much I cut off, but it was at least 6 inches. Long end of cut to top of hoop looks to be about 32 in. Hope that helps. All of the tubing they sent was on the long side.

I need a pic of this only parrallel . how many inches from your lower spreader bar to outside of tub. my plan? is to mount the spare on the cage with 2 spreader bars in the back like the 1 you have with a dimple die-d plate welded to both . [IMG]
