Tried the search function without any luck. What is the torque spec for the bolts that hold the backing plate and spindle to the knuckle.
    Thanks in Advance

No one ever answered this when it was posted couple of years ago.

    I have the same question.
56 cj5 -- what is the correct torque front spindle - brake backing - knuckle.

manual says brake backing 25 - 35, but it also says knuckle support to knuckle arm to wheel spindle is 45 - 55. maybe the 1st entry is for the rear and the 2nd is for the front - but it seems way to high.

    Thanks

In the '72 manual, it's given as the "brake backing plate mounting bolt and/or nut" - 25-35 ft-lbs
