Pedal Pictures Wanted

    OK, I'm installing the AA chain kit on my '67 CJ5. My Jeep also looks like someone (PO) mounted Herms dual master cylinder kit. I'm trying to figure out how the clutch pedal mounts and the brake pedal mounts. So I'm looking for some real good pictures. My junk came with only a brake pedal mounted, I have a few spares of the brake and clutch pedals and stuff, but i need to see what goes where, so really good pics would be nice. My body is off of my frame. I post pics of my junk later.

    best picture in the world is posted
    to have the old clutch linkage in the tranny has to be mounted
    the AA kit is very easy to install but the drive train needs to be in place for it to be fitted for measurements.

    Yes, that helps tremendously!!! I had no clue that one pedal sat outside the frame rail.... Interesting that shines a whole new light on things.

    That whole peddle assembly shown in your last picture is correct. The end of the rod connected to the right hand arm goes into the rearward facing end of the master cylinder. The left hand arm is the clutch arm. The chain will connect to it through a hole on the tab that is next to the brake arm.

    If you look at the top drawing provided by EricM between item numbers 25 and 26 there is a hoop shaped part that bolts to the bottom of the frame. The clutch arm goes on the outside of the frame and the brake arm and the tab you will be connecting the chain to goes on the inside of the frame.

    I'll try to put in new batteries in my Digital Camera and take a couple of shots of my peddles and the mount.

    The orange piece with the sprocket mounted in it goes where the cross-over tube that is shown in the second drawing is mounted on the frame.

    The old cross-tube clutch would bind up and make the clutch in-operable when doing some of the extreme off-road manuvers some people undertake with these machines.
    The chain linkage takes care of this.

    It will also make operating the clutch peddle much lighter in normal operation just running around town.

    Advanced Adapters. pretty slick, and is darn easy to get in there. Of course it helps with not having the body on and all.

    I also have a Herm/dual master cylinder, and a AA chain clutch link. I had an added challenge by my Holbrook asymmetrical springs.

    I ran the AA chain linkage as well. Be advised that in some extreme twist situations, even the chain mechanism will bind. It didn't happen to me, but after I sold the '71 Don got it into a situation... he ran the front end up a steep enbankment, stuffed high on the drivers side and at a 45° angle, maybe steeper. There were trees at the top, so there was never any intent to continue forward... just playing around. he ran it up the embankment, stalled it. He went to shift into reverse... clutch would not release. There was so much pressure on the driveline that he could not shift the T18 out of gear.
    We eventually pulled the rig down off the embankment with another rig and strap, with the aired-down rear tires turning on the bead seat because the wheels were engaged and would not turn (good thing the tires and bead seats were wet!). As soon as it was down, back to normal.

    Keep this in mind if you are planning to play around this way...
