98% Done!!!

Almost there......Just a few more odds n ends to wrap up and I'll be done. Laundry list includes:
install rear fender flares
install dash lights
install soft top
install rear seatbelts
install center console
install carpet
fix fuel sending unit
fix road wander
fix exhaust fumes in the cab???? (any suggestions?)

 

Nice!! Did you change out the steering column and fuel tank? If so what did you use/Where did u get them? Can you post some more Pic's of your dash in your gallery?

I always thought that the fumes were part of owning a Jeep?? The loss of brain cells from the exhaust is how we justify dumping more $$$ into the Hole.

 

Steering column...Yes! It is a stainless steel flaming river column. Bought it at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona. It was the same diameter and length as the stock column and a pretty easy swap. The only mod was to cut the old steering column out of the mount that bolts to the dash and then clean up the circle. I'll try to get close up pics of the column.

I also replaced the stock tank with the 21 gallon poly tank. Glad I did cause it looks like I wont be getting very good gas mileage!!!! Need to work on that! I'm thinking of 373 gears.......

Oh, and BTW, that's a nice Jeep, I like the green.

 

10x15" rims with 33" tires. I have about 4 hours a piece in sanding, buffing, and polishing the rims. They were in bad shape when I got them. I'm saving money for new rims and tires in the near future.

I think you are 100% correct!!!! Seems like everytime I look at it I think of something else to do to it! I just ordered Poison Spyder rock sliders for it this morning!!! More work!!!

cool color and general craftsmanship on the build! one thing i see missing is some rubber tubing for the tailgate chain so you don't chew up the paint when you go off road.

 

Sweet looking Jeep. Fumes in cab? You might try turning your tips down or running pipes out the back.

 

skeely....yep I need some covers on the chains. But their not the normal jeep chains. A little bigger than stock. what's everyone using? Ideas?

Rusty.....yep, I'll try that next. Won't look as cool but I'd rather be fume free than cool........If that don't work I'll have to find a local shop to run the exhaust out the back behind the tires.

 

You have to outrun your exhaust!

 

awesome looking jeep. you have done a great job with it.

 

Find inner tube for a bicycle tire, cut to length as needed, makes a good chain cover.

 

I bought some 1" fire hose cut for use a chain covers from a member like 4-5 years ago, I still havent gotten to the point of using them, but I'm almost there. I can't remember the guys name, but I'll look through my records.

They shined up pretty good but not perfect. I guess they pass the 60mph test though. I think it's a 2 inch lift. It was on there when I bought the jeep.
