    Hello from Olyphant Pa.!:D
I've been on this site for a while, but, have been down in the earlier year section.
I'm the guy who buys the rusted out hulk from behind the farmers barn, drags it home and spend years and tons of $$ to restore, (well not RESTORE, more like bring back to life), only to sell it when it's done and ready for the road, instead of actually ME driving it, get the $$, (most times barely breaking even), and start all over.:) 4 decads of it, you think I'd learn, and keep at least 1 of them? Naaaaa!:D
Same thing once again. Last month I finished my '61 Willys CJ5 after a year(quick project this time),
This is what I thought last March-
"Honey, this is the LAST project, I swear! I'm gonna do it over, run it til I'm too old to drive"
Well, got it done and that lasted til I had it out in the drive way, now it's down the road, (actually it's a default sale. A guy BASHED into my motorcycle AND the jeep, creaming the bike and the right rear, body, axle, frame. But that's another story.
I sold it to a guy for parts to make rock crawler outta what's left, so I was free to try another jeep).:(
It didn't take long to find a replacment!. A '74 CJ5, (I didn't make any promises with this one)!:)
232 6 banger, 3 speed, 42,000 orginal miles, (he used it to carry wood from the barn to the house), new fiberglass body. Seems like all I have to do to this baby is a paint job, (the old guy dropped the body on it on fresh, no paint on the body at all), fix the wipers, figure out why no gas gauge/temp sensor, radio, and oil swaps.
So,here I am moving up in the years!
I haven't a clue as to what trans/transfer case is in it, as well as the axles, all my books are 71 back to the 40's.
I don't know if my parts suppliers can get parts for something that new, (that's funny , 36 years old and it's NEW)!
I had actually looked at a brand NEW jeep, but figured if I bought it, what would I do at night????? Plus, it's just hard for me to think, I would pay MORE for the jeep than I did my house!
So here I am, another jeep another money pit?:D
    Cool!
    Joe
My J.O.B. in life- Single handily restore all the rusted jeeps in the world for the "Jeep take over"!:hurrican:

Yep, D30 up front, D44 rear. 11" drums. Axles 3.73, or 4.27 (IIRC) T14 3-speed behind the 232, with a slightly longer input shaft than the late 60s through '71 T14 had.
    D 20 tcase.

    Sounds good Joe.
    We need pics, of course...

that sounds familiar..when i picked up the 75 ive been working on all i had to do was fix the lighting and replace the spider gears in the rear end......a year and couple thousand later im almost done with the complete rewire, on the 4th carb, about to replace the fuel pump, gas tank, and sending unit, and redo the dash and finish the seats and ill be done.

so much for just fixing a light switch and some gearsR)

Sounds like a fun project, full of unexpected twists and turns :D

    and, as usual.........

Actually, I HAD back the '61 out to clean it up and take some pics of it before I ordered the top!
Then it had the "close incounter of the stupid kind", and became a pile of twisted metal.
Me thinks this one I gonna take pics form the minute ZI get home til??? I stop dring? sell it?
I swear, I'm only gonna fix what ever is wrong with it-Huh!
