My gas tank is leaking a little bit, and i have a replacement tank to go in it. I also have a sunpro fuel gauge and sending unit.
    Problem i see is that
A: the sunpro sending unit is a screw in thing while the stock one is a twist in.

B:The stock sending unit has the fuel line attached to it while the sunpro one doesnt.

Im thinking that if i just put the stock one back in and let it be the one that sucks the fuel and cutting a new hole and letting the sunpro one be the one that runs the fuel gauge.

Anyone see any problems with this? Does not seem like it would be a problem to me, but i dont know for sure

Have you measured the resistance of both? how close are they? Have you connected the original sender to the sunpro gauge and check the operation?
