Tuxedo Park Questions

    I have a 1965 CJ-6A with no seats. I have found a 55' CJ-5 with the 60/40 seats I am looking to buy. My question is the drivers seat is hinged so the back leans forward. Is this correct? Also were there any changes between that year bench seat and thae 65' seat? Also I am restoring the 6A I have and I know it has been in a wreck. I noticed today that the front shackles are verticle like the springs are too long. They look like factory springs but its possible they were replaced at some point with the incorrect ones. Any insite on this will help me also.

    One last thing. I am loving this hood. Any idea if it is factory?

    The set of split bench seats I have came out of a Tux, but I'm not sure if they were originally part of that CJ from the factory... Both the passenger and the drivers seat backs are hinged so they can tilt forward, and the passenger seat is also hinged so the entire seat can tilt forward allowing easier access to the rear of the CJ. I pulled them myself, so I know I got all the correct brackets/ drivers slider/ bit pieces, etc...

    think the only thing difference on the hood of a tux would be the badges and the chrome hinges et al......looks to me that the ebay hood is missing the snorkel cutout/cover, and I'm pretty sure your 65 should have that feature

    My 66 Tux hood does have the snorkel cut-out.

    After close inspection of that hood I believe that it has been painted. Thanks for the info on the seats. Any clue about the angle of my front shackles? I think they should be verticle.

    It's almost impossible to tell if eBay piece is a Tux hood. The paint job certainly isn't original, you can't tell if the hinges are chrome, and the angle is hiding where the Tux badges would be.

    With the blow up pic's at the bottom of his listing, you can see the badges and their placement on the hood. I can make some measurements tomorrow to check proper location if you like? The no snorkel bit tells me this is not the hood for your application. The hinges have been painted versus chrome.

    scrolling down, there are more photos.
    I say pass...to high a price for all the damage it has.
    The rearmost support spotwelds/dents take this price waaay down in my opinion.
    you'd just be paying for the badges in my opinion

    In reference to ebay, I've tried to deal with Stork's, and have not had good luck with them. Tried to tell me that the D44, offset diff, was what was on '72-'75 intermediates, not centered. I needed centered, of course, for my '72. Told them that was incorrect, and they got pretty defensive, and was sure that I didn't know what I was talking about/looking for...thanked them for there time, and moved on...that hood has been for sale by them for at least 2 years...
