Winch face lift

    I moved the solenoid pack under the hood, and modified a cover for a Smittybilt winch. Really cleaned up the front, and made the RH turn signal more visible.

    I also rotated the motor back to put the terminals in the back, and rotated the planetary housing to put the shift lever in the back so it wouldn't stick up.

    Well when I pulled the motor off, the cable loosened up (obviously) and I just rotated the drum by hand to sort of tighten it up. I hadn't realized how bad it was until I looked at the pic.:)

    hey pat , I like that alot , I had already moved my pack to inside/ inside the grille . but I tried turning the motor today ,I wanted to just clock it 1 rotation , but the bolts don't jig back up right till it looks like yours, did you try any other spot?I have the same winch,m8000

    No, I just rotated it back 90*. Actually, I took the motor off, because I wanted to inspect everything. And I like to take things apart.:D

    That looks great! I always like the look of a low profile winch on a CJ. So many newer ones put the solenoid up on top, blocking much of the grill's unique appearance.
