That will work. Might look for some flexable weather stripping and attach that some way.

New kits were supplied with rope caulk for the top joints, and adhexive-backed foam tape for between the body and the top.

Silicon sealer will adhere to the tub, more strongly than you may expect ... you'll have to run a blade between top and tub to remove the top.

    Sent in a PM.
Rope caulk is also called butyl caulk. You can buy it at the hardware store or home center. It comes in long strips about 3/16" diam, and has the consistency of sticky clay. Does not dry out.

Yes, that's what you use to seal the leading edge of the top to the windshield.

I tried to use foam tape and silicone caulk to seal my Scrambler bulkhead to the body, but it didn't work really well. It will still leak pretty badly in a heavy rain. But the Scram also has two drainholes in the front corner of the "bed" just behind the bulkhead and having these open helps a great deal. You might be able to do something similar in your 5.

That can also be used at the gaps between the fenders grille and cowl.

Hey Mike you're welcome. Hope I was not too brief in my PM response. I thought others might be wondering about this too, and they could benefit from the reply, so I posted here.
