Hey could anyone tell me what color a L6-226 would've been painted originally in a '62 Truck? I've seen them in everything from black to red.. what's original?

    Thanks,
    Evan

The one in my 60 is blue, but there seems to be a lot of confusion on what is actually correct.

I will look at the one in my FC170 this am-think it is still a virgin. I though maybe Willys America would have some of this info but didn't find anything on engine paint.

The paint on the 226 in the FC170 appears to be black, that is, what isn't rust.

Silver is the original color. Yes, silver, not grey. I know. I own two of them.
