Well I was looking through Craigs list in Atlanta this morning and this add jumps out at me "66CJ5 $1000" well I had to check it out. To make a all day story short I bought it for $900. I go to pick it up next Sat. and I can't wait to get it home. This is my third Jeep purchase this year.
Now the question: does any body have a operators manual for a warn OD?
This jeep has one and the only thing I know about them is what I have found with the search button.
I guess what I want to know is how does the OD work with the trans/transf?
Do you split gears or just use the OD after shifting into high?

My new project "Gerty" as my wife calls her.

you can split gears or leave it in or out....it's a long throw engagement so I usually leave mine alone until needed......just shift w/ the clutch like you would the tranny....in or out of 4X
    congrats on your purchase

X2 what Jim said, I usually just get mine into 4th before I shift into OD. The only other time is when I need a certain speed and want to spilt 2nd or 3rd.

Sounds like a nice find, any pics?

Thanks guys I do love Jeeps and appreciate all the info. I will get pics posted of the 66 when I get them. It will be quite a project, it needs to be a frame off resto but I don't have a shop just a carport. So it'll be a evening project then cover it with a tarp at night. Anyway my son is looking forward to helping so he can drive it.
