    Update....the guy at Napa bent the dizzy shaft trying to remove the gear.....ended up w/ a remanufactured dizzy :).....hooked everything up and.......



    I HAVE SPARK!!!!!!....thanks for the help all


    not getting gas from the pump so no run yet, but getting closer :beer:

    What year is the 5.0L out of? If its an OBD I, you should be able to jump the diagnostic connector and read the code output via the MIL...

    ...assuming you pulled that part of the harness.

    Hmm, not sure you can read codes from the MIL. You can, tho, by using an analog volt meter and count needle sweeps....If it's pre OBDII

    But you have spark now, so you don't really need to pull codes.
    Won't hurt, tho.


    Those shafts are tough. I've broken a few drive gears in the past "persuading" them :oops:, but never bent a shaft.
