I'm working on a 1955 Willys CJ 5 and have a question on the heater unit under the dash. Does it go in level or tilt down toward the floor at an angle? I have it level right know and have no room for gas pedal linkage.Your help I could use.
    Thanks,
    Don

What kind of heater is it?

    That would help us.

The factory heater mounted in the engine compartment. Most others mount in the middle or to the right side of the vehicle.

There wasn't a stock heater offered in '55 or '56 so your unit is either a dealer installed option or something a PO picked up in a junk yard, probably the latter as all the dealer installed units I'm aware of mounted on the passenger side.

DOH! You're right Howard. I'm asleep at the wheel this AM. Thanks for picking up my slack.

I'm sorry it's the blower part under the dash.
