Wow. Looks interesting. I have seen some pictures of another flatfender pickup in the past and it was pretty cool. It looks like you are on your way to building a awesome project. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted.

I saw the Flattie Truck in our Gallery as well. Really liked the idea and will be interested in following your build. I have the parts, just too many projects in the way so for me, I am going to do one after I clear the deck.

Therefore - I will live vicariously through your build :)

re did the front shackle reversal again(the last time) this is the forth time. and i came to the concluesion i had it right the first time. i felt it was to high still and the pinion angle was still to steep. so i took some cj spring hangers i had and cut them and made them 1/2 inch wider. added the 2x4 box tube it will help mount the warn 8274 i mounted up some flater yj springs and wala .it sits where i wanted it and the pinion angle is much better.
i mocked up the power brake booster and the pedals from the commando ,they fit real good.had to do a little fab work but i'm getting used to that on this build.

The pedals look good but are you going to have do something with the brake to get enough room in there for a gas pedal? That is one item I'll be redoing on my Flattie before too long, the angle of the pedal to my foot makes my ankle hurt after a long day on the trail

How much of a body lift do you have on it - I have about 2" and still could not get a power setup to fit. Went with the AA Brake/Hydro Clutch setup.

i only have a 1/2 inch spacer in between yhe tub and frame for mockup , but i will change them for 1 inch poly body mounts befor to long.
the brake booster is only about 7 or 8 inches in dia. i got it from "jeepsterpartsdude" his name is don a real nice guy.has a web site for commando parts.

Got parts from him as well. Heck, I even have a jeepster booster, but could not get it to fit with the hydro clutch setup on the firewall.

finished the pedals today. looks the same as before but a lot stronger.i mounted it to the bottom of the dash and the fire wall on the inside and the out side.i think i am going to shorten the pedals about an inch or 2. but not sure until i mount the seats.
got a griffen radiator from summit. 16inchx24inch for $200.00. it did not come with any mounts .so i made up some brackets for the bottom and a bracket for the top . i used some gm poly bushings for the bottom and 2 poly body bushings for the top. kind of made a radiator sandwitch.it is real strong .i'm not sure about the fan /fans yet. so i did not build a shroud yet.
then i went to work on the trans tunnel .i split the old shifter cover and used some sheet metal to make it about 3.5 inches wider to fit the sm a420.

well its christmas night and i thought i would work off some christmas cookies out in the garage. i cut out the stock crossmember and built a new one out off 1/4 wall 2x4 box and a 2 inch piece of 1/4 wall 4 inch round tube. the steering shaft will go threw it . i cut some fish plates useing cardboard templates to box the front of the frame and to tie the cross member to the frame.
i also notched the frond crossmember for clearence for the saginaw box.i used the piece i cut off and inverted it into the box tube and made little caps for the ends to seal up the tube.the saginaw box it totally protected from rock's.
i plan on working on the jeep alot this weekend so i will post up some more pics. latter.

ps. dont let the stack of washers on the spring plate scare you ,they are only there for mock up. i have the right length grade 8 bolts for the finished assembly.
