I currently have 6.50 x 16 tires on my jeep.

As anyone had clearance issues with running the slightly taller and slightly wider 7.00 x 16 tires on their flatfender?

brother runs them on his 51 cj3a with no problems even has the stock sagged springs has to run the bump stop bolts a little which sacrificed turning radius a little but very minor.

Are they the tires shown in your avatar? If so, I'm sold!

Nope they are smaller, and on 15 inch wheels. I have not gotten the 16 inche wheels sandblasted and painted yet. 7.00x16 is perfect for any flatty however.

here's what mine looks like with 7.00x16s and a 2" lift

I had to turn the knuckle stops out a bit to prevent rubbing the springs but it was very minor.

Here's some I just ordered from vintage tire, I have a 1" lift and gained another 1" of ground clearance from my old 600-16s.

Thanks for the pictures - 7.00 x 16 tires it is!

I am replacing my grandma white spoke rims with stock rims from a Willys pickup. This morning I test mounted the stock rim / 6.50 x 16 tire combo on my jeep and the locking hub sticks out about 1"

With those stock CJ rims, how far past the tire edge do the hubs stick out?

Are the 16" stock CJ and pickup rims the same dimensions?

I know on the m38 the wagon and truck wheels are a little wider. However since my stock m38 wheels are not very healthy I will be using a set off a truck.
