One wire Alt--charging light

I know this is everywhere, but cannot find the answer directly for this question after hours of reading previous posts.

Here goes: I have put in a 12si ONE-WIRE DELCO Alternator, on a stock 1963 CJ5 F134. It charges and works great.The question is "HOW DO I CONNECT TO THE STOCK WARNING LIGHT IN THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER?" or is this not going to happen, and I drive with the light on all the time?

On the back of the alt there are 2 terminal connections, If you have the connector from the help section of Pep Boys or similar FLAPS there are 2 wires, a red and a black wire it is the black wire that goes to the dash warning light.

 

I believe there is no way to hook up an idiot light to an one wire.There was a grea sire posted awhilw back that had all info but I have to go digging to see if I can find it.

If you have a 12SI, it's a three wire. At least mine is!

 

I don't think you can covert a 12 SI to a one wire setup, the info I've found on the net is for 10SIs. I just ran my one wire 6v alternator setup thru a ammeter to show it's charging. But hey I have been wrong several times before.monkeys

This might help, both 10SI and 12 SI can be used as 1 wire or 3 wire
