I have started to put things back together. An let me say I will never sand parts down again, ever. I have been sand blasting them and the results are night and day. Not to mention the time I saved.
Question is is this paint OK?
I am using a sandable primer about two coats, and them puting on a spray can Krylon epoxy enamel.
Is this going to hold up to rocks from the road bouncing up and hitting it?

And since pictures should always be posted.

Id give it a coat of undercoating. Although it would nullify your sanding effort. From my experience anything from a spray can isnt very durable. Also When i want to strip somthing like that i dont have a sandblaster so i use a wire wheel on a grinder works great :)

Tractor Supply Farm Impliment Paint is susposed to be good. You can get a hardeneer additive as well. I'm going to use this with an etching primmer. And I figure I can fairly eaisy fix scrapes, etc, eith a litte Ospho, primmer and paint down the road.

Rust Bullet is another good product like Por-15.

Stay away from POR15... way too expensive and overrated I have tried it and was very disappointed. One chip, it gets water behind it and flakes off in sheets. just like powder coating. It does not fair well in the salted roads of the great lakes.

I use John Deere Semi gloss black paint (@$25ish a gallon) over a good self etching primer. Thin the paint with JD thinner and get some synthetic hardener at NAPA. I also got the primer at NAPA. It works well. I have used this on a couple of jeeps with very good results
