I’m looking to reupholster my seats and need the correct center fabric design. I checked the local shop and their books only go back to 73. I'm sure they still sell the design because I saw a Ren2 with newly reupholstered seats on ebay last month. I tried emailing the seller without a response although ebay sometimes blocks PMs after a sale has expired.

Any help in finding a company that sells this fabric design would be appreciated.

Here is a pic of a recently reupolstered Ren2 seats

I searched and searched for something like the original and never could find the exact match. I could find some like in the picture you posted, but that is as close as I could find. The stripes in the picture are a little too "white" and sharp. In the original, the strips were kind of muddled white, almost gray, kind of like there is a little black mingeled in the strip. When I redid mine, I still had some of the old material left and when placed next to the patch I was thinking of using, you could really see the difference. I am pretty sure that the new patch that I had was the same that was used in your picture. If you zoom in on my calender pic that I posted, I think you can kind of see what I am talking about. Also if you zoom in on that famous pic of the 3 RII setting in a circle, you can kind of see what I am talking about. My Jeep was only about a month old when that pic. was taken. Also all the new material has a different look, even the black. Hard to explain, but side by sde you can a see a difference. I just gave up and did mine in orange sense I could not get a exact match. Good luck :coffee:

Thanks for the reply Mike. I thought my original white strips had faded after looking at the ebay reupholstered seats. I can now see that your calendar pic is more inline with what I have. In addition the original front seats come with 19 white strips and the ebay reupholstered front seats have 18.

That being said I’m still hoping to find a close match and go with it. Again, thanks for all the help you have given me regarding my Ren2.

I just received an email from the ebay seller turns out he bought the fabric from the same company (SMS).

“I got the material from a company in California. I think it was SMS. Here is the contact info. They will send you a small sample by mail so you can see if it is what you want.”
    -Tom

I’m not in a rush so I’ll keep looking and if all else fails I can use the fabric from SMS.

I bought some of the original material a few years ago from a company whose name escapes me at the moment. They sent some samples and it was an exact match. I'll try to remember or get the the bolt of fabric when I get a chance and let you guys know.

SMS, the same company mentioned above is the one that supplied my fabric. It's exact match of the original.

    Thanks guys!

Last Friday I receive a sample from SMS and as you mentioned it was an exact match, haven't had a chance to post that info until now. The price is $95 a yard.

Is there a part number or some type of ordering info for this material?
    Thanks
