trying to change out my rear pinion seal... so far i have the driveshaft off and the big nut off and i cant get the dust shield off over the seal... FSM says to use a puller to get the seal out but how do you get the dust shield out? Can i do either without a puller?

The dust shield should be part of the yoke ... they come off together. You'll probably have to yank it with something, puller, wire and slide hammer, drilled flat stock bolted to yoke and tap ends with hammer.

got it out! yeah... what i thought was a dust shield was just part of the seal... it got mangled on the way out but i got it out with a screwdriver and a small pry bar. new one was a bit different looking but it fit perfectly :). thanks
