I installed a YJ power booster and master cynlinder on the 80 but I am unable to get the front drivers side to bleed. It bled before I did the swap.

All other lines bleed fine and as I said this side bled fine before the change over. Someone suggested maybe an air pocket so I left the bleeder cracked overnight to try and gravity bleed it and no dice.....

    Any suggestions??:?:?:?

Is the bleeder pointing straight up?
If it's clocked one way or another, the air goes to the highest point... if the bleeder is below that, you'll never get the air out. You may have to dismount the caliper to get the bleeder to the highest point, then bleed it, close it, then remount the caliper.

Hey, you're in Charleston... my oldest son lives there, works at SPAWAR...

Would that cause zero brake fluid to come out the bleeder?? Because its like I have a dry hole....nothing comes out....Could it be a problem with the proportioning valve??

I have a squishy pedal but I am guessing thats related to the no fluid coming out the front drivers side bleeder....Thanks

If there's enough air in the line there wont be any fluid coming out. Best bet is to try it the way lynn says, some even park it on a hill when they leave the bleeder open for gravity bleeding so that it's at the highest point.

Just got home to check the calipers and the bleeder is at the highest point on the caliper....

And this is Charleston we have no hills for me to park on....Its flat as a pancake here along the coast..

Any other thoughts or things I should look at?

Use a vacuum pump at the bleeder screw to suck the air out, or a piece of vacuum line and suck on it 'till you get fluid.

Remove the bleeder screw and see if it's plugged up. If ok and no fluid out of the bleeder screw hole, disconnect the hose to that caliper and see if fluid comes out. If not, keep disconnecting junctions one at a time until fluid comes out. Sounds like maybe a restricted/plugged orifice somewhere. Also possible the hose got damaged internally blocking the fluid. The Proportioning valve works on the rear brakes and would not affect the front. Also, would not affect side to side on your vehicle. Nickmil

What Nick said :iagree:....I had a rubber hose to my front caliper that was collapsed and wouldn't let brake fluid through

is the bleeder clogged?? ive seen this more than once.take the bleeder all the way out and see if the small hole at the base is clogged.if its open, disconnect the steel line before the hose and see if brake fluid comes out, that should help you isolate the problem

I started yesterday at the bleeder and that was as far as i got. Problem solved. Not sure if it was clogged or malfunctioning yet, but switched it out and everything works. Re-bled the system and I have brakes....woohoo....Thanks for all the suggestions from someone learning as he goes.
