Got a 71 Jeep CJ5 with some jimmied up wiring... i mean really bad... PO made his own fuse block out of some circuit board, fuses and screws... what a mess..... He also put some type of steering column out of a GMC... probably 80s...

Well heres my problem... i do not have the money to get a new harness yet so i have been trying to solder and crimp the twisted wiring connections back together..... Finally got the brake lights to work and now i need turn signals..... I am going to be getting a new harness in the spring but i need turn signals now.....

I am trying to rig up a 3 way toggle switch so that the center the TS are off.. swith it left the left one comes on ...ETC... you get the idea.... can some on tell me how to run all new wiring... i mean i want to run a wire from the battery just for the TS and then through the switch and flashers... PLEASE HELP... A Diagram would do me wonders....

    THANKS

Hooker there is more than enough help on this forum bbbuuuttt, what your trying to ask us to do is illegal (toggle on dash) and also dangerous. We value our members. That said, would you consider installing a fairly cheap after market T-Sig switch?

Spartan turn signal units or something similar are what I'd suggest for you Hooker.

just curious - any chance you could snap a couple pics of the under dash part of the sterring colom? - I probably could type you through getting the switch on the colom working, if everything is there - just wired one up my self - pretty much a snap if ya know what everything does - will look for where I posted that part of my project - be right back....

if under your dash, you have a clip that looks like this coming out from the left side of the colom, then here are the wires ID'e. just wire in a 2 pin flasher for the turn signals (from power, to flasher, to wire labled turn signal flasher). You will need a second 2 pin flasher for the Hazzareds, again, from power, to flasher unit, to wire labled Hazared flasher)

Good luck, and the (Brown, yellow, black, white, purple, pink, and green wires that are all in a row at the top, are for the wiper control) - you are just concerned with the wires ID'd in the pic

    Pic time
