Yep- it's a 1970. But- I changed the grille, the original grille had the large turn signals, the one on there now is actually a CJ grille with Jeepster ears grafted on. If you look close you can see the extra CJ turn signals, I have them wired as daytime running lights, with a toggle to light up the brighter filament as a winch light.

There's about 3-4 spot welds on each ear. They're easy to see, you can feel them too. I used a Rotabroach to cut the welds from the backside. The Rotabroach is fairly inexpensive, about $25 for a mandrel and cutter. It is like a holesaw without a pilot hole, just cut through the one layer. Then I used a grinder to clean up the ears, and welded them to the CJ grille.

Think it would be ok to just drill though them with a drill bit?

Yeah, you'd just have to fill the holes with weld.

Awesome! I just got them off. Now all I need to do if get rid of the dent in one of them and put them on my cj7. Im thinking about putting a fog light or driving light where the signal goes. Thanks for the tips randy!
