    Greetings,
I have a 72 bullnose with a 304 and was inquiring to see what it takes to swap out the bullnose for a cj-7 front clip. I haven't taken any measurements off a cj but eyeballing it looks pretty close.
    Anyone ever do this?
    TIA

Yes they have, how hard it is I dont know.
A bull nose is longer than a jeepster.
    The jeepster is cj5 size.

The bullnose and the cj7 are both longer but exactly the same, I dont know.

Ask your ? here and you will get a more timely answer.
    Maybe even some pics.

From what I recall of my parts Commando (bullnose), the core support has a similar mount to the Jeepster&CJ grille/core support- one in the center. If you can pull a measurement from the cowl to the mount location on the frame, that should give you an idea how close they are.
The tire placement on the CJ-7's and later 5's almost look a bit too far back in the fenders from the sides. So, if the Bullnose front axle sat a couple of inches further forward than the CJ-7 it would still probably look fairly well proportioned.
When I read the title of your post, at first I thought you wanted to put a bullnose front on a CJ-7. That would be strange!

Pretty much bolts up. Drill holes for hood hinges in the cowl. The CJ fenders are shorter at the bottom where they meet the tub. Here's a pic of mine, before it got parted out. The brown fenders are CJ fenders, the blue fenders are YJ fenders. However....I'd leave it a Bullnose, use some cool cut-out flares, and call it good.

Hey thanks for the input. Thought about keeping it a bullnose but really am leaning towards the swap. eventually i would convert it too the jeepster style with a custom hood and the jeepster grille extensions on the cj grille.

nice, thanks for all of the input guys. I just picked up a grill and hood that a guy has had stored up in his garage rafters for 12 years. Now i need to get the foot of snow cleared off the commando and get it in the garage.

What parts are needed to do this? Fenders, hood, grill, etc? Are there any inner fenders to worry about? I'm looking for any information possible?

You realize this needs '72 or later parts? The early fenders and hood are too short.

    I'm biased but I'd find the front clip from a Willys . . .

The work was done by a PPO. The grill and fenders appear to have been a direct swap. The hood was modified, not only the cowl added but the sides were extended. I'm not sure if it was done that way to make it fit or if he just didn't have the Willys hood (which is what I think was the reason).

    Sorry for the hi-jack
