I've got a 43 Willys that has what I think is the stock tranny. The shifter handle is real loose, making it hard to find the gears... otherwise it is fine. Is there a bushing or springs that could be worn or missing to cause this?
    Thanks

If it is still the stock T-84 the stick should be held on by a threaded cap on the shift tower. Underneath should be a metal shield and a spring. Common for the spring to collapse or be missing. Also check the pins as they wear. Herm should have parts for these. Nickmil

Si. The pins get really sloppy with age and use.
