I am having a problem with my rear pinion wraping violently upward when applying heavy loads. My 79 CJ-5 has 9 overall inches of lift 4" springs and a spring over, with a dana 44 and 35" Tsl's.Does anyone have a solution for this problem that does not limit axle articulation and travel.Yea I know it is a little tall but the full width axle swap made me do it.Pics would be great!:?

Uh a buddy of mine bought some upper arms with the hiem joints for a 3 point hitch from tractor supply and made traction bars out of them. I will try and get some pics this weekend.

Nick you missed the ultimate reason for the wrap problem... a bit too much motor.

Nick I think it's Superlift that makes an Antiwrap spring pad, it's a longer springpad made for SOA setups.
    They work great.

I have old skyjacker 4" springs and I get no axel wrap at all and I have 33 x 10.50 x 15 slicks
flashing the converter to 4000 rpm and get a 1.77 60' 12.300 1/4 mile at 107.00 mph sound like your springs are getting weak

Weve built a couple diff. set ups and so far the best working one is a truss over the rear diff and a bar welded between the frame above the reartcase out put. Then build a link bar to go between them with heims on each end. You have to gusset the heck out of the upper bar to keep it from cracking/breaking but it seems to work well. We built one for Greenie and it is solid as can be now, also have one in another CJ7 with a 360 and 36s and it holds up to a TON of abuse.

(fuzz 401) That's a really cool photo and 12s are cookin' in a lifted Jeep.

But it looks like you've got a spring-under and he says he's got a spring over. Big difference when it comes to axle wrap.

(E.E.45 - ) Dude, you're hosed. You're gonna have to do some fabrication. Off-the-shelf traction bars aren't really gonna do it since your frame/floor is so far from your axle. You could use one of the Sam's Off Road, Superlift, M.O.R.E., etc. but you'll need to build a drop mount off the frame to attach the shackle end to it.

I was doing some research on anti-wrap devices,I like the design of the the sam's offroad bar and with some hiems I could easily built one.
Fuzz401 that picture is awesome,The springs are only 6 months old.
