Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but since it was on my 61 CJ5 I'll post here. I'm trying to figure out what kind/model wich this is. Please help. The only thing I can make out on the label is Beren 8? Serial numbers are visible in pics. Thanks.

    looks like a warn 8274.
You scored big time on that one!
Fastest line speed ever, and will out-pull most any modern winch for a longer time...

I've seen mods on them for dual 24v motors on them for winch-fest competions.
Parts are pretty easy to get, and simple to rebuild.

    Wish I had one....

That is a bellview. Warn 8200 I think is the designation. I have the same one. It is a good solid winch but the only drawback is the winch has no automaic brake. you have a hand brake for it. Still a good winch

Those were made by Warn when they were based in Seattle in the very early days. While a good winch, you might see if the new bosch motor mount holes are the same as your existing motor. Then it might pull like a more modern 8274.
Install it with very clean connections and see if it pulls hard. If it does then run it. If not and stalls with out much effort open the motor up and clean the amature and check the brushes and brush spring tension. Some older things just might need a little work is all. It looks great.

Warn M8000. I've got one that was on my A1 when I got it.

Thanks for all of the info everyone. I have the control cables but not sure if they still operate freely. I will have to try it out soon. :)

Berens Associates was a Warn dealer
they also sold Jeep accessory items, touch up paint, tow ropes etc etc
they were based in Calif if I recall
