    Hi fellows,

I am looking for adapters to bolt a second pair of wheels on the rear axles.
This double rear wheel option could be seen on CJ fire trucks and other heavy duty uses.

I appreciate any advice where to get such a pair!

    Thank you

    PD

All the usual suspects...eBay, WillysTech, or the more roots-level aftermarket suppliers (Northstar Willys, Walcks, WillysAmerica etc.)

I seem to remember reading somewheres that Jeeps that had the dual rear wheels for backhoes etc. were upgraded to Dana 60 axles. You could probably get away with duallys on a 44 just for looks but if its for real loads putting that much stress on a non floating axle strikes me as a bad idea :(.

I'd tend to agree with Howard. Your load limit is mostly determined by frame/axle structure and the maximum wheel bearing load. Bolt-on dual wheels won't change that. The duals will change the appearance only.

There was an old man down the road who had a brother who drove a jeep pulling gang mowers on a golf course. It had duallys front and rear.

Big, flat footprint on golf greens would probably work well, preventing tire dents on soft ground. He could run cheap, stock-sized tires and run flat too. Can't be very good for steering effort though.
