So, since we have this new forum section.

What are good sources for wheel bearings, brake shoes and that sorta thing for a M416?

I need to get busy with mine!

Planning to have the tub blasted inside and Duraback it (hopefully this month or early next).

Then bearings, hand brake, more permanent wiring. Retrofit my mil spec tail lights with 12V lights and take the ugly Wal-Mart specials off and put a good hookup on the TJ and CJ-5. :D

    Dunno, that's why I'm asking.

If it is then I should be familiar with it. ;)

I know very little about my trailer's mechanicals. Going to learn soon.

You might try G503.com forums and scroll to the M416 threads.

I just went through the brakes and bearings in my M416, this is what I did.

Bearings and seals came from the local bearing house.

The thrust washers, lock washers and nuts for the wheel bearings are the same as 41 to 86 CJ stuff.

I couldn't find anybody who knew for sure what brake shoes fit, so I had mine re-lined at the local brake and clutch shop for $28.

My brake cable was also seized up, I got a new one from Mullins jeep parts for $47.50

    Hope that helps.
