I'm a little late into this but I did have one of these installed on my 5. For those who were asking you have to apply the brakes then push it down. You hold it down and then release the brake pedal. The back pressure from the brake side hold it locked. To release you just press the brakes. There is no way of locking them in if you accidently press the button. Over time mine got corrosion inside and started messing with my pedal feel. I removed it. Just my two.

Any idea what fittings these come with? I have the sneaking suspicion that what works on a Samurai might not work with my '64 Jeep...

Well, it's not a metric size which is probably what you need. There are adaptors that would get you there I'm sure. I did'nt use the fittings that came with mine. I replaced them with 90 degree fittings and mounted the unit to the bottom of the dash. That way the lines are already pointed towards the firewall. My local VW buggy shop had all those types of fittings, standard and metric.

Now that I think about it, on this one the fittings that came with ir ARE the adapters. Use them for standard, don't use them and the block threads are metric. Look around, I'm sure you can find one that will work for you. My local shop is VW Paradise in San Marcos, CA.
